Being a teacher is a huge responsibility. As a teacher, you can either impact the lives of your pupils/students positively or negatively. Your pupils/students look up to you and are constantly learning from you.
You must always give them instructions regarding what they must do and what’s expected of them. After telling students what to do, it is important to show them exactly how to do it.
For instance, you can model how you expect them to complete an assignment, so they understand what they’re supposed to do.
You should also model values such as kindness, respect, thoughtfulness, honesty and enthusiasm for learning.
In general, children learn more from what you do than from what you say. Always remember that you are in a position of great influence each time you stand before your classroom. Make the best use of that influence!
